Here at Dragonfly Wellness, we are delighted to be offering Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT) at our studios from February 2023.


What is EFT?

EFT tapping is a mind-body method of tapping acupuncture points (acupoints) on the hands, face, and body with your fingertips while focusing on an issue or feeling you're hoping to resolve. This method may reduce stress and anxiety, improve performance, lessen cravings, and help resolve fears.


Since the early 70's thanks to the work by Dr Peta Stapleton, the scientific world has accepted the mind/body connection. When we feel certain emotions in our mind, our body feels these to. This is due to the brain releasing peptides that flood our bodies through our receptors changing the chemicals in our cells. Effectively sending the emotions from our brains to our bodies causing our bodies to mirror that of the emotions experienced by the mind due to dissonance. If we are light and joyful, this is also reflected in how are bodies feel. We can see this in our body language too. Similarly, if we are feeling overwhelmed, down or depressed our bodies can feel heavy, lethargic and ache.


However, the mind body connection also works in reverse. By using the power within us we have the ability to change our emotional state of our minds by changing it in our bodies. Through somatic movements, exercise and tapping we can tap into our energy or Qi o support our wellness. By tapping on our meridian pathways we can focus on the negative emotion at hand: a fear or anxiety, a bad memory, an unresolved problem, or anything that’s bothering you, access your body’s energy, restoring it to a balanced state.


Every emotion we feel has a pattern that runs through our minds and bodies. A pattern that can be broken. Energy circulates through your body along our meridian pathways, a specific network of channels. You can tap into this energy at any point along the system. Breaking the pattern. All negative emotions are felt through a disruption of the body’s energy.


Using tapping, we can restore balance to the body’s energy, and you will address and change negative emotions and physical symptoms that stem from the energy disruption. Restoring the body’s energy balance, and overcoming and changing negative emotions.
